Our Experience and Credentials.
YinWave is the quieter current within AbaYoga — where sound, stillness and fascia meet.
Founded by Chris Abay, YinWave brings together over 20 years of yoga practice, thousands of teaching hours, international training and a grounded therapeutic approach to movement, stillness and nervous system care.
This is not fast yoga. It is not fitness-led yoga. It is careful, intelligent practice for real bodies, real lives and real recovery.
Why Trust YinWave?
YinWave has grown from AbaYoga, an established local yoga studio serving the South Croydon, Sanderstead and Warlingham community since 2017.
Our work is rooted in experience, professional training and continued study. We specialise in slower, therapeutic practices including Yin Yoga, myofascial release, Yoga Nidra, Gong Baths and nervous system-informed movement.
Students come to YinWave for depth, warmth and careful teaching rather than performance or pressure.

Professional Standards
YinWave is connected to recognised professional yoga standards through Yoga Alliance registration and continuing education.
Chris is registered as an E-RYT 500 teacher and YACEP provider. YinWave by AbaYoga has also developed a fully accredited Yoga Alliance teacher training 200 hour Teacher Training program rooted in Yin Yoga, anatomy-informed teaching and intelligent practice design.
Professional development is not treated as a badge. It is part of the way we continue to refine the teaching, protect students and offer classes that are safe, thoughtful and relevant.
International Training & Continuing Study
YinWave is shaped by many years of study and practice, including yoga training in India, Australia, Portugal, Miami and the UK.
This international training has helped shape a teaching style that is grounded, therapeutic and respectful of individual bodies.
Rather than asking students to fit into fixed shapes, YinWave encourages practice that adapts to the person in front of us.
Our Teaching Approach
At YinWave, yoga is taught as a therapeutic practice, not a performance.
We focus on:
Slow, deliberate movement
Fascia release and tissue hydration
Nervous system regulation
Breath and stillness
Functional strength and balance
Accessible options for different bodies
Depth without force
